WE MISS U -- MJ

While I’ll admit to not being much of a Michael Jackson fan in recent years, I do have to say that he has left behind him and enormous body of work. The young boy with the amazing voice who I believe started singing professionally at the age of eight had a certain something. Charisma? Charm? Talent? A special light? I don’t know but it did reach people.

Off the top of my head I can think of many of his songs that I loved. Dangerous, Billie Jean, Thriller, Beat It, I’ll Be There… His music has definitely been part of everybody’s life soundtrack and will remain so.

Though later in his life he resorted to what can only be considered extremely odd behavior, not the least of which was the endless plastic surgeries designed to make him look more and more like a dummy - as well as other activities that we aren’t going to discuss here - the fact is, the man brought music to the world. And that music touched millions worldwide.

Farewell Michael Jackson - may you sing now with the angels.

ARUNDHATI

ARUNDHATI a magnum opus from the producer of Anji, Ammoru and so on thrillers and remarkable movies. Shyam Prasad Reddy is known for his passion towards cinema and un-compromising production values have come out with yet again another horrific thriller.

'Arundhati' is the best illustrative example to the age old saying 'picchi vADi chaetilO raayi'. In this age of sourcing, re-sourcing and recurrent themes, where makers openly acknowledge that it no longer about the content, but all about presentation, 'Arundhati' stands tall and proud for its original content in the horror realm.

CAST

This is Anushka’s first performance oriented film and she is simply amazing in two roles. She has to show the variations between the old Arundhati and new Arundhati. She did exceptionally well.

Sonu Sood looks deadly in the role of Aghora. His performance is excellent.

A special mention should be given to P Ravi Shankar who dubbed the voice of Sonu Sood. It is a great opportunity for any dubbing artists to get a role like this. The way he pronounces ‘ninnu vadalaa … vasta .. vasta’ is extremely good.

Sayaji Shinde got a beautiful role ‘Talla Sayibu’ in this film. He is completely believable in that role.

Story – screenplay

Story of the film is good. Screenplay is very good. The beauty of this screenplay is about revealing the story and information in parts. There is always something to look forward to with anticipation in the film. It possesses one of the best screenplays in the recent times.

However, there are a couple of violent scenes that are disturbing to the family crowds.

Final Word

After a long time, I watched a Telugu film that has both content and technology rightly mixed to give a vibrant output. Arundhati is a film which you can proudly show it as a Telugu film to all your non-Telugu friends. And it will live up to the adjective of ‘Magnum Opus’. Two thumbs up to Shyam Prasad Reddy for making a brilliant film. Don’t watch it on internet or pirated DVDs. Arundhati is a film that must be watched in a good theater with nice sound/projection system.

IS INDIA GOING EXTRA EUPHORIC OVER SLUMDOG’s SENSATION at OSCAR?

Slumdog Millionare, directed and produced by foreigners has brought Oscars for showcasing India's poverty and exposing Mumbai's dirty underbelly. Music magician A R Rehman and sound mixer Resul Pookutty got the top honors at the Academy Awards ceremony and everyone is singing Jai ho.

However, many critics believe India should not celebrate Slumdog Millionaire’s success at all. But here are the reasons why India can and should celebrate the film's Oscar glory.

·         The screenplay has been borrowed from Indian representative Vikas Swarup's novel Q & A

·         The Oscar winning piece of music for Slumdog Millionaire has been composed by Indian music magician  A R Rahman

·         Lyrics for Jai Ho have been penned by Indian poet Gulzar

·         Sound for Slumdog Millionaire has been designed and mixed by Indian technician Resul Pookutty

·         All the characters in the film including the protagonists are Indians

·         The supporting cast of the film includes Indian Bollywood stars like Anil Kapoor, Irrfan Khan, Mahesh Manjrekar and Saurabh Shukla

·         The Co-Director, Loveleen Tandon, is of Indian origin

Therefore, the question that rose in my mind was: Should India take credit for Slumdog's hit at Oscar’s?

Slumdog Millionaire is not an Indian film. It's a film about India made by British filmmakers,

We should actually honor A R Rahman, Gulzar, Resul Pookutty and Pinki and not have the entire euphoric misconception about Slumdog Millionaire being an Indian movie.

Is JAI HO the best of RAHMAN?

I feel that the music that brought Rahman his Oscar was really not the best of his stuff. But, Rahman had given better melodies in Tamil and Hindi movies than Jai Ho.

I don't mean to say Jai Ho is not a good song, but certainly not the best of Rahman's creation.

Slumdog is for western audience

Slumdog Millionaire is a movie from a westerner’s point of view for the western audience and therefore it clicked. In India slums are not a rare, and an Indian filmmaker would not want to show his audience things that they are so familiar with.

Salaam Bombay made by an Indian on Mumbai slums long ago did not receive the deserved credit because it was in Hindi.

FINAL WORD

However irrespective of the pessimism and all the debate over India's happiness and patriotism, one must not forget the two individuals who won awards and brought glory to the country - A R Rahman and Resul Pookutty - did so for their original work. And that surely is a reason to celebrate.

Measure of success...

Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which one has overcome while trying to succeed

Wake up PM!!! Its time to react...

Dear Mr. Prime minister
I am a typical mouse from Mumbai. In the local train compartment which has capacity of 100 persons, I travel with 500 more mouse. Mouse at least squeak but we don’t even do that.
Today I heard your speech. In which you said ‘NO BODY WOULD BE SPARED’.
I would like to remind you that fourteen years has passed since serial bomb blast in Mumbai took place. Dawood was the main conspirator. Till today he is not caught. All our bollywood actors, our builders, our Gutka king meets him but your Government can not catch him. Reason is simple; all your ministers are hand in glove with him. If any attempt is made to catch him everybody will be exposed. Your statement ‘NOBODY WOULD BE SPARED’ is nothing but a cruel joke on this unfortunate people of India.
Enough is enough. As such after seeing terrorist attack carried out by about a dozen young boys I realize that if same thing continues days are not away when terrorist will attack by air, destroy our nuclear reactor and there will be one more Hiroshima.
We the people are left with only one mantra. Womb to Bomb to Tomb. You promised Mumbaikar Shanghai what you have given us is Jalianwala Baug.
Today only your home minister resigned. What took you so long to kick out this joker? Only reason was that he was loyal to Gandhi family. Loyalty to Gandhi family is more important than blood of innocent people, isn’t it?
I am born and bought up in Mumbai for last fifty eight years. Believe me corruption in Maharashtra is worse than that in Bihar. Look at all the politician, Sharad Pawar, Chagan Bhujbal, Narayan Rane, Bal Thackray, Gopinath Munde, Raj Thackray, Vilasrao Deshmukh all are rolling in money.
Vilasrao Deshmukh is one of the worst Chief minister I have seen. His only business is to increase the FSI every other day, make money and send it to Delhi so Congress can fight next election. Now the clown has found new way and will increase FSI for fisherman so they can build concrete house right on sea shore. Next time terrorist can comfortably live in those house, enjoy the beauty of sea and then attack the Mumbai at their will.
Recently I had to purchase house in Mumbai. I met about two dozen builders.
Everybody wanted about 30% in black. A common person like me knows this and with all your intelligent agency & CBI you and your finance minister are not aware of it. Where all the black money goes? To the underworld isn’t it? Our politicians take help of these goondas to vacate people by force. I myself was victim of it. If you have time please come to me, I will tell you everything.
If this has been land of fools, idiots then I would not have ever cared to write you this letter. Just see the tragedy, on one side we are reaching moon, people are so intelligent and on other side you politician has converted nectar into deadly poison. I am everything Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Schedule caste, OBC, Muslim OBC, Christian Schedule caste, Creamy Schedule caste only what I am not is INDIAN. You politician have raped every part of mother India by your policy of divide and rule.
Take example of former president Abdul Kalam. Such a intelligent person, such a fine human being. You politician didn’t even spare him. Your party along with opposition joined the hands, because politician feels they are supreme and there is no place for good person.
Dear Mr Prime minister you are one of the most intelligent person, most learned person. Just wake up, be a real SARDAR!!
First and foremost expose all selfish politician. Ask Swiss bank to give name of all Indian account holder. Give reins of CBI to independent agency. Let them find wolf among us. There will be political upheaval but that will better than dance of death which we are witnessing every day. Just give us ambient where we can work honestly and without fear. Let there be rule of law.
Everything else will be taken care of.
Choice is yours Mr. Prime Minister. Do you want to be lead by one person or you want to lead the nation of 100 Crore people?

Gud n Gr8

You are the sole owner of what you are!! The difference between good and great is the extra effort you take towards the success. To get what we've never had, we must do what we have never done. The only thing that stands between a person and what they want in life is the will to try it and the faith to believe that it is possible. Remember, it's your life, you are responsible for the results.
